法国可再生能源生产商Unite已在法国卢瓦尔河谷中部地区的索尔德河畔布里农和勃艮第-弗朗什-孔泰大区的圣克鲁瓦-布雷斯地区试运行了两个光伏鸟舍。
这两个项目都是该公司正在法国开发的200 MW太阳能鸟舍项目组合的一部分。这些项目是由法国能源监管委员会（CRE）在创新光伏解决方案招标中选定的。
在第一处项目点，15000块太阳能电池板被安装在了从事种植20多年且愿意尝试新鲜事物的Régis Clément养殖基地。这座10 MW的发电厂每年将产生近11 GWh的电力。
其目的是建立一个完整的掩体，以防止可能带来疾病的候鸟进入。鸟舍大棚的一部分由光伏框架覆盖，其余部分则由传统网罩覆盖。为部署这10公顷的鸟舍，开发商对光伏框架结构和太阳能组件的间距进行了定制，以满足Régis Clément饲养员的具体要求。同时，阳光/阴影比例也根据季节的不同而进行了优化，以提高动物的舒适度。
在第二处项目点，新的鸟舍建在La Motte农场的原址上，该农场由饲养野鸡和鹧鸪的农场主Emmanuel Massot负责经营。
该项目用17个更高、更坚固的镀锌钢光伏天篷取代了老旧、破损的结构。这些改进使这个每年生产多达3万只野鸡用于狩猎和放养的农场获得了空间，提高了生产能力和工作舒适度。该项目耗资600万欧元（690万美元），可直接连接附近的高压线而不需要远程变电站，这也是该项目能快速建成的原因。此外，该发电站拥有30年的租约，年产量估计为7.6 GWh。
Unite表示，位于圣克鲁瓦-布雷斯地区和索尔德河畔布里农的新饲养场完美地适应了鸟类的飞行、抓挠和啄食等自然行为。据报道，部分光伏覆盖可以使动物受益于阴影区域，并更好地保护它们免受气候危害和捕食者的侵害。
“下雨时，鹧鸪倾向于挤在一起保护自己，” 负责这两个项目的光伏项目经理Sidy Daffe说，“它们现在有更多可用的保护空间。至于野鸡，它们的羽毛需要雨水和阳光：因此，交替使用电池板和传统网罩非常适合它们。”
