沙特电力采购公司（SPPC）宣布启动第七轮国家可再生能源计划（NREP），并就总计3.1吉瓦光伏容量的四个项目发布资格预审（RFQ）公告。
其中一座电站规模达1.4吉瓦（交流），位于朱夫省希马附近；另一座600兆瓦（交流）电站拟建于阿西尔省比沙；此外，马迪纳省规划一座500兆瓦（交流）项目，哈伊勒省Mawqaq附近规划一座600兆瓦（交流）项目。
中标开发商需以建设-拥有-运营（BOO）模式开发并运营上述电站。资格预审截止日期为9月29日。
SPPC于2024年9月已启动上一轮招标，当时计划分配3吉瓦光伏容量至四个项目。其中包括位于纳季兰省希马附近的1.4吉瓦电站、吉赞省Ad Darb附近的600兆瓦电站、吉赞省的600兆瓦项目，以及哈伊勒省Al Sufun附近的400兆瓦项目。
2024年10月，SPPC公布了第五轮项目的中标名单，总规模为3.7吉瓦，分布在四个项目中，包括东部地区的2吉瓦Al Sadawi电站、哈伊勒北部的1吉瓦Al Masa’a项目、麦地那西部的400兆瓦Al Henakiyah 2电站，以及麦加西部的300兆瓦Rabigh 2电站。
