该垂直墙体是Vins Raïmat在西班牙安装商Becquel的支持下、在现场部署的一套300千瓦自发自用光伏系统的一部分。整个项目包括一套屋顶光伏系统，其中采用了660个太阳能组件和一个包括65块太阳能电池板的垂直阵列。
Becquel的一位发言人告诉《光伏》杂志：“该垂直墙体不仅可以发电，还能减少酒桶的能量消耗，因为它可以保护酒桶不受太阳直射。它发挥了三重作用，即发电、阻挡光照和减少能源消耗，因为让酒桶内保持低温还需要电力。”
Becquel在该设施中使用了455瓦的加拿大太阳能电池板。项目预计每年将为酒厂发电约429960千瓦时，这能够满足该公司35%的能源需求。
