Greenko从印度国有电力生产商NTPC可再生能源部门获得了3 GW的储能容量，且在此次不区分技术的储能招标中以最低价中标。
Greenko正在开发世界上最大的、基于抽水蓄能技术的储能平台。目前，该公司正在开发的储能项目容量达50 GWh。而根据此次最新中标要求，该公司将连续25年向NTPC可再生能源部门提供500 MW/3,000 MWh的独立储能容量，方便该部门向公用事业和工业客户全天候供电。
招标结果将抽水蓄能技术确定为首选且成本最低的长期储能解决方案。其他开发商还提交了锂离子电池、钠硫电池和压缩空气储能技术的投标书。
Greenko表示：“此次中标将使得每天、单个周期的单位储能费用达到58美元/MWh。对比在最近印度国有太阳能公司（SECI）举行的、基于电池储能系统的储能采购招标中的储能费用（120美元/MWh），这可以说是一项巨大的成就了。考虑到抽水蓄能项目每天可以循环一次以上，且不会对性能产生任何影响，实际蓄能费用还可能显著降低至29美元/MWh的水平。”
