新的BESS使用314 Ah的磷酸铁锂（LFP）电池。据报道，该电池的使用寿命为12,000次，交流输出端的最大输出电流为2890 A，最大输出功率为4 MVA。据制造商介绍，该电池采用液冷的三电平逆变器拓扑结构，效率可达到99.5%。
X-BESS 8的设计符合IEC 61000， IEC 62619, IEC 62477, EN 50549, UL 1741和CE标准。它的工作温度在-40℃至70℃之间，具有12种工作模式，包括电网支持、黑启动和在孤立网络中运行等。
“该系统是分段交付的，安装模块重量轻，每个模块的质量在8吨以下，无需专门的重型设备进行运输或安装，” 该公司表示，“每个模块都是即插即用的，具有标准化的机械和电气接口，以确保快速、低复杂性的现场组装。”
EXERON X-BESS系列电池目前正在生产5 MWh和6.5 MWh的型号。
IPS公司负责设计和制造除LFP电池以外的所有系统组件，包括逆变器、热管理系统、电池模块、电池组和BESS外壳。至关重要的是，所有控制软件和嵌入式固件的开发和维护都严格遵照欧盟网络安全框架。
为了满足对储能解决方案快速增长的需求，IPS公司将于2025年6月在保加利亚索非开设一座新的自动化制造工厂。该工厂启动时的年产能将达到1.5 GWh，到2025年底将扩大到3 GWh。
