安大略省独立电力系统运营商（IESO）已通过该省“长期2号（LT2）能源窗口1”采购计划，批准了12个太阳能项目，总装机容量为915.1兆瓦。
IESO还同意了两个新的风电项目，总规模达400兆瓦。这标志着安大略省十余年来首次大规模以竞争性采购方式引入新的风电和太阳能资源。
上述14个项目合计构成超过1.3吉瓦的新装机容量。全部建成后，预计每年将为安大略省电网新增超过3太瓦时的发电量，足以满足全省超过35万户家庭的用电需求。
每个项目均包含至少50%的原住民股权持有比例。获批的太阳能项目单体规模从9兆瓦到200兆瓦不等，其中有4个项目装机规模超过100兆瓦。
根据中标结果，规模最大的太阳能项目包括：200兆瓦的Dunns Valley Solar项目、167.2兆瓦的CarbonFree Fort Frances项目、154兆瓦的CarbonFree Kynoch项目，以及141.25兆瓦的Massey Solar项目。
IESO网站上的信息还显示，其目前正与中选开发方推进合同签署工作，待合同全部签署完成后将公布相关价格，预计时间为5月。
LT2采购机制最早于2024年公布。此次中选项目将获得为期20年的协议，预计将在2030年5月初前开始商业运行。
加拿大可再生能源协会（CanREA）总裁兼首席执行官维托里娅·贝利西莫（Vittoria Bellissimo）表示，此次采购结果清晰表明，可再生能源已准备好应对快速增长带来的挑战。
今年2月，CanREA曾向《pv magazine》表示，到下一个十年中期，加拿大累计太阳能装机容量有望从当前约5.4吉瓦跃升至21吉瓦，主要受未来公用事业级采购推动。该协会还补充称，加拿大9个省份即将启动相关招标。
