西班牙能源巨头Iberdrola继2019年12月竣工后，已调试完毕欧洲最大的光伏电站——500兆瓦的Núñez de Balboa开发项目。
于周一投入运营的这个耗资3亿欧元的项目位于西班牙南部埃斯特雷马杜拉（Extremadura）地区的乌萨格雷（Usagre）、伊诺霍萨德尔瓦列（Hinojosa del Valle）和比恩维尼达（Bienvenida）三市之间。Iberdrola与当地电力供应商Ecoenergíasdel Guadiana合作进行了项目开发工作，在发电场内部署了1,430,000块太阳能电池板、115个中央逆变器和两个变电站。
Iberdrola设法从欧洲投资银行和西班牙国家信贷研究所（Official Credit Institute）获得了绿色融资。公司在7月与金融服务提供商Kutxabank签署了初步购电协议后，于2018年11月与Uvesco (BM Supermarcados)签订了一份涵盖391兆瓦项目总装机容量的购电协议。此外，公司还在10月中旬与位于巴斯克自治区（Basque Country）的电信服务提供商Euskaltel达成了另一份购电协议。
Iberdrola计划在2022年前安装3吉瓦的太阳能，其中2吉瓦将落址于埃斯特雷马杜拉。公司的目标是到2030年时达到约10吉瓦的部署规模。早在6月时，公司曾公布将在西班牙中南部卡斯蒂利亚-拉曼恰（Castilla-La Mancha）的昆卡（Cuenca）附近建造太阳能总装机容量为800兆瓦的两个装置的计划。
