挪威石油巨头Equinor与意大利天然气承包商Saipem旗下、总部位于Vollsveien的工程专家Moss Maritime合作，在挪威海邻近特隆赫姆的Froya岛附近对海上浮动太阳能阵列进行测试。
将在夏末建成80米x80米的太阳能装置，并接受至少一年的测试。该公司表示，太阳能电池板将安装在水面以上低于3米的高度，但未透露其他技术细节。之后，Equinor将评估设备的发电量，以确定恶劣天气条件和汹涌水域如何影响其性能。目前，Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate正在对该项目进行审批。
