Asahi India Glass已与总部位于艾哈迈达巴德的Vishakha Group合作，在印度古吉拉特邦的蒙德拉建立该国最大的太阳能玻璃工厂。这一新建项目最初将每年生产高达3 GW的太阳能玻璃。

Vishakha Group是印度最大的柔性聚合物包装制造商之一。它还生产整个太阳能电池板价值链中的其他关键组件，包括太阳能背板、EVA封装板和太阳能电池组件铝边框。 继总部位于新德里的Gold Plus Glass之后，Asahi India Glass已成为今年第二家进军太阳能玻璃制造领域的企业。目前，Borosil Renewables是该国唯一的太阳能玻璃制造商。它在古吉拉特邦布罗奇设有一家工厂，可满足印度约40%的太阳能玻璃需求。印度依靠进口来满足需求平衡。
随着销售额的增长，Borosil Renewables计划增加日产量为500吨的第三条太阳能玻璃生产线及加工设施，将产能从每天450吨扩大到950吨。正值该公司宣布增加产能之际，印度太阳能装置的激增推动了市场对太阳能电池板和太阳能玻璃的需求。
作为其履行《巴黎气候协定》承诺的一部分，印度现在已经启动到2030年实现450 GW可再生能源的宏伟目标。
Vishakha Group董事长Jigish Doshi表示：“印度是少数几个加快全球气候变化承诺的国家之一，我们打算尽自己的一份力量实现可再生能源目标。”
