瑞典能源机构（Energimyndigheten）发布的临时数据显示，瑞典运营光伏装机容量在12月底达到1.59 GW，该数字在前一年为1.09 GW。
数据显示，2021年是该国迄今为止太阳能部署规模最大的一年，电网新增发电能力约为500 MW。2020年装机容量为 400MW 2019年装机容量为287MW，2018年装机容量为 180MW 。目前，瑞典共有约92,360个光伏电池板，比去年增加了约26,500个。2020年，新部署的光伏电池板约为22,000个。
据Energimyndigheten报道，在已部署的光伏系统中，有超过一半的的装机容量不足20kW，有42%的装机容量在20kW到1MW之间。装机容量超过1MW的太阳能发电园区约占全国太阳能总装机容量的8%。 瑞典的大部分光伏发电能力来自 退税计划支持的住宅和商业光伏电池板。瑞典能源署已投入约48亿瑞典克朗（约合5.112亿美元），用于支持2009-2021年太阳能光伏计划。
