挪威可再生能源开发商Inseanergy公司已建造了一个用于水产养殖项目的浮动太阳能平台。SUB太阳能系统安装在回收的鱼笼浮环上，可以与陆上电源结合使用，以减少对柴油发电机的需求。柴油发电机是渔场传统使用的电源。此外，SUB太阳能系统还支持将多余的电力出售给电网。
该公司表示，浮动太阳能系统特别适合与混合动力系统解决方案结合，将电池与小型柴油发电机配对使用。
与Hofseth International公司在其挪威斯特朗达的一个渔场完成了一项试点后，Inseanergy公司最近安装了其第一个商业装置。DNV和特隆赫姆研究公司SINTEF对其展示器进行了测试，并进行了风险分析。Inseanergy公司表示，升级后的SUB 太阳能浮动系统目前正在获取DNV认证。
Inseanergy公司首席执行官Kari-Elin Hildre告诉《光伏杂志》，其公司最近在挪威克拉霍门的一个三文鱼养殖场安装了一个直径51米、发电量290 kW的浮子。该公司安装的首个商业设施是为鳕鱼养殖专业公司Gadus集团安装的一块发电量为160 kW的浮子。
在养鱼场进行正常工作时，太阳能电池板被浸泡在水中，以便冷却，不仅增加了重量和结构稳定性，还可以减少面板上的污垢。此外，Inseanergy公司会使用泵和舱底水系统来清除漂浮结构上的污垢和多余颗粒。
