Socom公司总裁Marc Thein在该工厂的新闻发布会上表示，每块“卢森堡制造”的太阳能电池板将比亚洲制造的电池板贵15欧元（16.20美元）至18欧元，但其并未透露电池板的技术细节。据报道，Evocells将在原材料采购和简化供应链管理方面发挥主导作用，同时优先考虑产自欧洲的材料。
Thein表示：“为了减少对世界另一边的零部件供应和交付的依赖，在当地生产会更加容易。”
新工厂将需要500万欧元（540万美元）的初始投资，并将创造约20个就业岗位。
