阿布扎比未来能源公司（Masdar）与阿联酋水电公司（EWEC）已启动建设一项全球首个千兆瓦级可再生能源基荷项目，将实现全天候持续供电。
该项目结合5.2吉瓦太阳能电站与19吉瓦时电池储能系统，双方早在今年1月宣布计划在阿布扎比建设该光储一体化项目，预计2027年投入运行。
据Masdar官网发布的声明，该项目总投资超过220亿阿联酋迪拉姆（约59.9亿美元），预计将创造逾1万个就业岗位。项目建成后，每年可减少约570万吨碳排放。
Masdar表示，该设施将作为全球可再生能源部署的样板，通过解决太阳能间歇性问题，实现具有竞争力的基荷供电。
Masdar董事长苏丹·阿尔·贾贝尔（Dr. Sultan Al Jaber）表示，该项目凸显了阿布扎比能源行业的协同力量。Masdar首席执行官穆罕默德·贾米尔·阿尔·拉马希（Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi）补充称：“这一全球首创项目是Masdar历史上最大、最具雄心的项目，证明可再生能源完全能够实现全天候供电。”
Masdar目前在多个国家拥有储能项目，目标是在2030年前实现总装机100吉瓦清洁能源。
今年9月，由Masdar牵头的联合体中标阿曼一座500兆瓦光储项目，配套100兆瓦时电池系统；而在7月，Masdar与法国电力集团（EDF）合资的Emerge公司签署了一份为期20年的协议，将在沙特阿拉伯Misk City建设一座621千瓦峰值屋顶光伏车棚系统。
