澳大利亚能源委员会（AEC）最新发布的《太阳能季度报告》显示，澳大利亚已经安装了超过14.7 GW的太阳能屋顶光伏设施，成为了全澳发电产能第二的行业部门。
AEC的这份太阳能季度报告显示，虽然燃煤发电在装机容量上仍更胜一筹，但屋顶太阳能正在继续扩大规模，今年第二季度共新安装109000套系统。
AEC表示，对这家清洁能源监管机构的最新数据进行分析，可以看出，澳大利亚屋顶安装的太阳能系统截至6月底时已超过286万套，总装机容量超过14.7 GW，从而确保了屋顶太阳能继续蚕食曾由化石燃料发电机组牢牢占据的市场份额。
AEC首席执行官Sarah McNamara指出，屋顶太阳能的平均装机容量稳步增长，并继续打破预期。
“虽然由于新冠肺炎的影响，2020-21财政年度对大多数行业来说都充满困难，但根据AEC的这一分析，澳大利亚的屋顶太阳能光伏产业似乎没有受到过多的影响，”她说。
“除北领地外，全国所有行政区的太阳能电池板安装数量与上一财政年度相比都创下了记录。”
AEC表示，澳大利亚家庭在2020-21财年安装的太阳能系统数量估计为37.3万套，比2019-20财年的32.35万套有所增加。装机容量也从2.5 GW跃升至超过3 GW，而平均单套设备规模在6月达到8.06 kW。
其中领先的是新南威尔士州——在2020-21财年期间安装了超过11.6万套屋顶系统，装机容量总和增加了965 MW。
昆士兰州、维多利亚州和西澳大利亚州的普及趋势也非常强劲，总共安装了21.2万套，总容量为1.67 GW的屋顶光伏系统。
McNamara表示，保持低位的技术成本、家中工作方式的日益推广，以及在新冠肺炎大流行期间家庭开支转向家居修缮——这些因素都在屋顶太阳能光伏系统的普及中起到了关键作用。
