2022年，印度新增2.5 GW开放式太阳能容量，比2021年的1.3 GW增长92%，根据Mercom India的最新报告，这创下了新的年度安装纪录。
截至2022年12月31日，全印度的开放式太阳能装机容量累计达7.7 GW。卡纳塔克邦依然排名首位，占累计开放式太阳能容量的近36%。马哈拉施特拉邦紧随其后，占全国总安装量的12%以上。
Mercom India说：“由于各组织和开发商赶在基本关税（BCD）和批准的型号和制造商名单（ALMM）规定颁布之前完成项目，2022年安装量达到历史最高水平。在新冠疫情期间推迟的项目投产也让总量增加。”
2022年，卡纳塔克邦开放式太阳能容量增加最多，其次是马哈拉施特拉邦和泰米尔纳德邦，前五个邦共占当年全部安装量的77%。
第四季度新增容量达到293 MW，同比下降近10%。卡纳塔克邦在10月至12月期间完成了全部新增产能的32%以上。全印度第四季度的项目管道总容量达到6.6 GW。
