这3000亿美元由涵盖整条价值链的228个已公告大型项目组成，其中85%分布在欧洲、亚洲和澳大利亚。这些项目并不都是像西澳大利亚州的26 GW亚洲可再生能源中心那样的大型发电项目，也包括交通应用、基础设施和大规模工业应用项目。
事实上，正是后面这些领域让国际氢能委员会预测氢能将成为最具竞争力的燃料来源。这份报告认为，氢能“到2030年可以成为20多种应用中最具竞争力的低碳解决方案，包括长途货运、航运和钢铁。”
