该公司表示，其正在评估生产地点，考虑区域激励措施，积极致力于在美国建立战略合作伙伴关系和达成晶圆承购协议。
该公司已任命Jonathan Pickering为北美业务发展副总裁，主要负责美国业务。他曾在JA Solar Americas和Applied Materials公司担任高管。
“多家顶级太阳能公司已承诺在美国各地发展吉瓦级先进光伏电池和组件制造能力。但现在，我们看到国内硅片供应链出现了重大瓶颈，”Pickering表示。他还补充说，该公司将能够在美国生产制造薄硅片。
Nexwafe正在推出无角晶圆片产品。单晶硅晶圆直接通过气体-晶圆制造工艺进行生产， 该工艺不仅效率更高，而且可以生产超薄晶圆。其晶圆产品与传统电池处理相兼容，据报道其碳足迹可比传统工艺减少60%，从而最大限度地减少损耗。
Nexwafe总部位于德国弗莱堡，于2023年5月宣布完成了了一轮3,000万欧元融资。
