阿曼电力和水资源采购公司（OPWP）已就其第二座大型太阳能公园的项目开发，向一些被选中的咨询服务公司发出了要约函(Request for Proposals)。提交报价书的截止日期是2018年10月15日。
今年7月，OPWP宣布将在今年二季度启动第二个大型太阳能公园项目。这一被称为Solar 2022 IPP的项目，容量在500MW至1000MW之间，建成后将并网入阿曼的主电网系统(Main Interconnected System)。
这一项目，连同阿曼在今年1月招标的另一个同规模项目，均属该国2024年2GW太阳能装机容量战略计划的一部分。2019年和2020年还将另有类似的两个项目投标计划。
OPWP在今年四月披露了其第一次500兆瓦光伏项目招标的结果：有12家开发商通过了预审。这一耗资5亿美元的太阳能光伏公园将作为一个独立电力项目（IPP）开发，电站选址在于马斯喀特(Muscat)以西约300公里的伊布里(Ibri)。
去年1月，阿曼石油开发公司（PDO）也进行了一次招标，标的为在阿曼南部的沙漠地区阿明建造一座100兆瓦（AC）光伏电站。
阿曼政府拥有POD 60%的股份，壳牌集团(Shell Group)、法国石油巨头道达尔(Total)和葡萄牙石油公司PARTEX则分别持有该公司34%、4%和2%的股份。
