马来西亚这次500兆瓦太阳能招标共吸引112个投标，总发电产能超过6.73吉瓦。
招标中给出的最低价格为拟建的100兆瓦太阳能项目所发电力的0.17777马来西亚林吉特/千瓦时（合0.042美元）。这是开发商可以根据条款竞标的最大规模，并且每家公司有机会对三个项目出价。其中最贵的拟建太阳能项目电价为一处9.9兆瓦设施的0.5800马来西亚林吉特/千瓦时。这一高昂报价大大高于0.3240马来西亚林吉特的次高出价。 随着上一轮大规模太阳能（LSS）采购计划吸引了1.6吉瓦产能的竞标者，其中每千瓦时电价为0.33-0.53马来西亚林吉特。而最近的第三轮LSS似乎能将价格进一步降低。这些投标目前尚待评估，但不超过0.2368马来西亚林吉特的最低电价的七个项目容量总和为547兆瓦。
根据能源委员会Suruhanjaya Tenaga发布的一份文件，2月份宣布的最新一轮公开拍卖吸引了40个寻求100兆瓦发电容量的开发商的出价。其中最小规模项目投标针对5兆瓦级设施，电价为0.331马来西亚林吉特/千瓦时。
招标规则规定，开发商必须使用仅雇用马来西亚工人的工程、采购和建筑服务提供商。 2016年的第一轮计划分配了200兆瓦产能以及位于沙巴的50兆瓦产能，招标项目的规模限制为50兆瓦。第二次拍卖于2017年举行，共分配了360兆瓦的太阳能以及在沙巴和纳闽岛上的100兆瓦，规模限制为30兆瓦。
