英国太阳能开发商Lightsource，已向爱尔兰米思(Meath)郡议会提交申请，计划投资6000万欧元在该郡邓博因(Dunboyne)的129公顷土地上建造一个70兆瓦的太阳能电场。
如果获批，该电站将会是爱尔兰最大的单一太阳能阵列，也将是不列颠群岛中最大的一个阵列。
Lightsource表示，这一项目未来将成为推动跨国企业在此投资的一大动力，能帮助米思郡南部及其他地区就业率的增长。同时，太阳能还可大力帮助爱尔兰实现欧盟可再生能源目标方面——该国是欧盟成员国中极少数几个可能无法实现2025和2030减排目标的国家之一。
目前，这一太阳能电场还没有建设完工时间表。但Lightsource在北爱尔兰已有了7座太阳能电场，总容量达38兆瓦。同时，该公司还获得了在爱尔兰共和国建造一个20兆瓦太阳能电场的规划许可。另外还有一个在爱尔兰南部东科克(Cork)的建设中光伏项目。
