加勒比开发银行(CDB)宣布已与苏里南政府合作，为该国电网扩容提供金融支持，这其中包括三个光伏电站的建设。
CDB表示，这一合作项目包括升级36.6公里的输配电线路、新建五个变电站、扩建或升级现有的三个变电站，以及建设三座太阳能发电设施。
三个光伏电站中的两个将位于尼克里河区的西北海岸，而另一个在该国北部的Coronie。整个项目将由本土电力公司N.V. EnergieBedrijven Suriname (EBS)负责实施。
项目总投资额为9800万美元。CDB将提供6500万美元的贷款，剩余的3300万美元将由苏里南政府和EBS提供。
苏里南目前电力供应主要依赖于水电和火电。根据IRENA的信息，苏里南的目标是使该国的可再生能源发电量在2017、2022和2027年分别达到20%、28%和47%。
