韩国电力公司(KEPCO)和韩国LS Industrial Systems公司(LSIS)已完成了在日本北海道的一个28兆瓦太阳能项目，该项目带有13.7兆瓦的储能容量。
这一项目的总投资约为113亿日元，KEPCO持有80%的股份，是该公司在韩国境外开发和建设的第一家光伏电站。所产电力将以每千瓦时40日元（0.35美元）的上网电价出售给北海道电力公司。
项目占地108公顷，安装有13万块光伏组件，但KEPCO并未透露组件供应商详情。LSIS则是这一项目能源储存系统的供应商及安装商。
在过去的两年中，KEPCO在海外市场投资了一系列的可再生能源项目。2015年下半年，它签定了与丹麦涡轮供应商Vestas合作在约旦共建一个89.1兆瓦风电场的协议。2016年8月，它在科罗拉多购买了一座30兆瓦的聚光光伏电站，从而进入了美国的太阳能市场。
LSIS目前在日本也有几个在建太阳能项目，其中包括一座在石川县的18兆瓦设施。
