Silveira表示，Vale do Jequitinhonha锂矿开采项目为巴西提供了一个机会，使其成为全球锂矿生产的重要参与者，而锂矿是能源转型的重要矿产。
他说：“我们知道，关键矿产将是能源转型的基础，所以我们必须基于巴西的这些潜力而努力，协调并制定能够为我们的社会带来重大回馈以及保证可持续性的公共政策。”
上周，Sigma Lithium从Porto de Vitória向中国发运了全球首批绿色锂。这批货物来自于Vale do Jequitinhonha开采的矿物，包括15,000吨三零碳绿色锂和额外的15,000吨超细、高纯度副产品。预计到今年年底，巴西的出口量将达到约13万吨。
巴西与智利、阿根廷、美国、加拿大和澳大利亚等国家一样，是锂开采潜力最大的国家之一。
