根据巴西能源监管机构国家电力局（Aneel）的最新数据，截至8月底巴西的分布式发电太阳能装机容量达到了10.4 GW，占到该国目前195.6 GW总电力结构的5.2%左右。
巴西分布式发电领域包括所有规模在5 MW及以下的光伏系统。这些装置有权根据净计量电价计划向电网出售多余的电力。
今年到目前为止，各开发商已部署446900套分布式发电系统，总容量为5.3 GW。
其中，圣保罗州的分布式太阳能发电装机容量最高，共计安装了339000套系统，装机容量达3.2 GW。其次是米纳斯吉拉斯州，安装系统数量为256000套、容
量为3.1 GW；南里奥格兰德州安装了271000套系统。巴西共有八个州的分布式发电装机容量超过1 GW，巴伊亚州是最后一个加入这一行列的。
再加上集中式发电领域（即所有5 MW以上规模的光伏发电厂）的发电量，巴西的累计太阳能装机容量已达到33.6 GW。
