为了在印度成立电池储能工厂，特斯拉已寻求多项激励措施。但据路透社报道，印度官员拒绝提供这类激励措施，但提出通过向购买特斯拉产品的客户提供补贴的方式创建公平的商业模式。
特斯拉最近在美国太阳能光伏及储能展览会（RE+）上展示了新型混合动力电池Powerwall 3。这款电池可以为房主提供11.5千瓦的连续运行功率，且只需30到40分钟的安装时间。同时还配备集成式逆变器，简化了安装。这是一种混合动力系统，适用于新装太阳能装置，但不适合已有屋顶太阳能系统的家庭。
